I saw all the rave reviews on IG but I was under the impression that they used peanut oil, which kept me away. However, a recent Reddit post mentioned they use soybean oil, so I decided to check out our local Irvine location.

Upon arrival, I confirmed with the manager that they indeed use soybean oil. I also managed to get a copy of their allergen menu, which isn't available on their website, which also didn't list any peanut ingredients.

Starting off, I tried the mild version of their famous hot chicken. It was delicious! On my repeat visit, I decided to upgrade to the medium spice level and found myself loving it even more.

If you're hesitant like I was, don't be! Dave's Hot Chicken is a must-try, especially now that I know it's safe for those with peanut allergies.
