Some news on the personal front. I recently had an appointment with Dr. Warner Carr of Allergy & Asthma Associates of Southern California. Dr. Carr was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, empathetic, and reassuring. Based on his advice, I started SLIT for peanut allergy. It involves progressively increasing concentrations of peanut protein administered once a day at home with periodic updosing in the office (about every 2-3 weeks). So far, I'm tolerating the dosing and, fingers crossed, hoping it will continue. The plan is to use SLIT as an on-ramp for Oral Immunotherapy (OIT) which involves higher doses and more definitive response though the risk of reaction is higher. I will keep you posted as the treatment progresses.
